Is This the Original One Ring?

In a housekeeper’s office of a Tudor mansion in Hampshire, there dwelt a very odd golden ring that glittered on a revolving stand in a tall perspex column. Could this be the original ring that inspired JRR Tolkien to write about,
“One very beautiful thing, very beautiful, very wonderful. He had a ring, a golden ring, a precious ring.”

I'm thinking of trying my hand at replicating the rabbits, (in my own style to avoid copyright issues, of course.) But since I'm not that great with clay, I've contacted my buddy SixLegDeer at Etsy to see if I can persuade her to make some teeth for me ;-)

Zero

Happy New Year!

2013 - where did 2012 go?! It slipped by without much notice from me, that's for sure.

Anyway... I've started a huge crochet project that I'll be blogging about here. Needless to say, that is where I'll be spending most of my posting time. Come on over and check it out!

If I don't see you there, all the best to you in 2013 :)

I have respected the wishes of the chart creator and removed the version that I created from my blog. You can find her chart here. I have provided some instruction to Tiffany as to how I created the document, so if you have any issues with downloading from Google docs, she should be able to help you out!

Thanks Tiffany for a great project!

M&M's - Ms. Brown

This commercial has had me laughing all day XD

Anonymous

It could be because I'd gotten an email reminder to purchase tickets for this year's Renaissance Faire, but I found myself in the mood for a medieval-themed movie. Shakespeare in Love is one of my frequent go-to's, but I was yearning for a different story.

As I was cruising the on-demand movie listing, I came across Anonymous. Starring Rhys Ifans, (remember Hugh Grant's bizarro room mate from Knotting Hill?), I couldn't resist.

The premise of the movie is that Shakespeare was a fraud and that all of the plays, prose and sonnets were actually written by the Earl of Oxford. During the time of Queen Elizabeth I, writing was frowned upon by the Puritans and plays were deemed sinful. He was forced to hide his writing and thereby paid a barely literate stage actor named William Shakespeare to take the credit for his work.

Produced and directed by Roland Emmerich of epic disaster movie fame, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had actually become engrossed in the movie. If you find yourself looking for something different to watch, I'd recommend giving this one a go.
